Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum will be kicking off its 2011 season with Discovering Archaeology Day on April 16th and YOU are invited! Chat with professional archaeologists from local, state, and federal agencies who will be here with hands-on activities and lots of information about current projects. Ask them to identify an artifact for you! Tour the Smith St. Leonard site excavations and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory. Take the opportunity to learn how to make stone tools, or just watch them being made, by joining a Knap-In at our picturesque Indian Village. Stroll through the Visitor Center and visit our FAQ Archaeology exhibit or have some fun in the Discovery Room! See our *NEW* War of 1812 exhibit which will be open to the public for the first time during this event. Discovering Archaeology Day is from 10am to 5pm (free admission) – we’ll see you there!
